latest news about Sakshi and Dhoni couples

July 15, 2010 Leave a comment

India, July 11 — She came, he saw, she conquered. And the most ironic part: Sakshi Singh Rawat didn’t even have to make an effort to capture the interest of India’s most eligible bachelor.

The two first met at the Taj Bengal in Kolkata in November-December, 2007. Yudhajit Dutta, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s manager and one of his closest friends, and Sakshi, who was interning at the hotel, were pals. India were playing Pakistan at the Eden Gardens and staying at the Taj, and Dutta dropped in to meet Dhoni. He also called Sakshi up and asked her to stop by. It was, coincidentally, Sakshi’s last day at the Taj Bengal, so some would say their meeting was fated.

Sakshi dropped in, was introduced to Dhoni and they went their separate ways. Unknown to Sakshi, Dhoni asked Dutta for her phone number and texted her.

In fact, say sources, Sakshi did not believe it was Dhoni texting her when he first did. It took a few months of serious wooing on Dhoni’s part before they started dating in March 2008. She attended Dhoni’s birthday bash in 2008 in Mumbai, but they did not spend time alone till Dhoni took an hour off from his friends to drop her back to a relative’s place.

UK investigates 800,000 organ donor list errors

LONDON — Britain’s transplant authority said Saturday that it was investigating several hundred thousand errors in its organ donor list stretching back about a decade.

The National Health Service Blood and Transplant organization said a proportion of its 14 million-strong organ donor list has been affected by technical errors since 1999 — and that a small group of people may have had organs removed without proper authorization as a result.

The programming error meant that, for example, people who wanted to donate organs such as their lungs or their skin were incorrectly identified as people who wanted to donate their corneas or heart.

The Sunday Telegraph newspaper said the glitch affected about 800,000 people — 45 of whom have since died and donated organs. Just under half of those are thought to have made donations based on the erroneous data, the paper said.

An official at the National Health Service did not dispute the paper’s figures although she did not confirm them either, saying an investigation was ongoing. She spoke anonymously because officials were still gathering information before contacting affected families.

She stressed that everyone on the register was a willing donor of some kind.

“There’s no suggestion that people have been signed up to the register who didn’t want to be there,” she said, adding that no data had been lost and the problem had since been contained.

“There’s no possibility of any incorrect data being used today,” she said.

The revelation comes at an awkward time for the government, which has been pushing to increase Britain’s rate of organ donation, one of the lowest in Europe. Officials have poured millions of pounds (dollars) into an awareness campaign and floated the idea of automatically designating every person a donor unless they or their survivors opt out.

Currently, every Briton is automatically considered a non-donor unless they register as one or their family decides to donate their organs after death.

The glitch also comes atop a series of information technology mishaps, raising questions over the government’s ability to handle its citizens’ data. Officials have misplaced data on 3 million driving test candidates, 600,000 army applicants, and 5,000 prison officers over the past few years.

Those were dwarfed by the loss, in 2007, of computer disks carrying information — including banking records — on nearly half the U.K. population.

The latest mistake came to light late last year when the Blood and Transplant organization wrote to new donors thanking them for joining the register and outlining what they had agreed to donate.

Some respondents wrote back to complain that the information was wrong.

Joyce Robins, the co-director of patient watchdog group Patient Concern, said the transplant errors were “a disaster.”

“The trouble is that it happens so often. We’re constantly being told that our data is safe, and it’s rubbish. Every time we’re told that it’ll all be tightened up, it’ll never happen again, and it never does.”

PlayStation network down in Trophy sync SNAFU

March 1, 2010 Leave a comment

A glitch in the PlayStation network caused players of its trophy games to discover they weren’t players of its trophy games anymore. There’s a bug in the network that screwed up the trophy sync process so that even if you were offline you still weren’t able to play some games. But the bug doesn’t affect everyone with PlayStations – only the models before everything glot slimmer. A message tweeted on the SonyPlaystation channel said followers confirmed that 120/250GB models of the PlayStation 3 are connecting normally. Sony is “narrowing down the issue and continue to work to restore service to all”, was the last bit of Twittery news. The company is hoping to have a fix up and running by the time Americans log in to start playing their trophy sync games first thing this morning, US time.

how to get fair Skin Practically

January 25, 2010 1 comment

Ever wished your skin was a little fairer? This does not just apply to Caucasians, but also women with naturally dark complexions, who simply want a ‘paler’ or ‘untanned’ version of their God-given skin tone.

Step 1

Stay out of the sun. This cannot be stressed enough. Most of the normal darkening and discoloration of your skin is caused by the sun. Or at least use a high SPF sunblock with a minimum SPF of 30. Most dermatologists agree an SPF 15 is not sufficient anymore. Dangerous UVA and UVB rays are still reaching your skin. You want 98% or more of the sun’s rays to be blocked.

Step 2

Wear a hat when outside. Especially in the summer. There are so many fashionable hats these days, you can also be a trend-setter while you are protecting your skin.

Try using any or a combination of these chemicals at least 3-4 times a week on your skin: Glycolic acid, retinal and even salicylic acid. They are all chemicals which naturally even out discoloration. The Gold Standard of lightening skin is Hydroquinone. It can be found in many over-the-counter cosmetic products in 2% or less. Be prepared to wait 4-6 weeks for improvement. Rarely, some people find a darkening of their skin. This is mostly an abnormal reaction that happens to people with darker skin. Obviously, if this happens discontinue using the product and consult a dermatologist.

Step 3

Think about your skin like a painting. You want to make your skin appear lighter, so a good rule-of-thumb is to wear clothes that are darker than your skin tone. Wearing too many whites, peaches, and beige clothes will only make your skin appear darker in contrast. Go for bold, bright colors that flatter you.

Tips

For women, try wearing dark lipstick and/or eye colors that will contrast with your skin. Stick to one feature on your face ( the eyes or the lips ) so as not to look overdone and clown-like.
When choosing a sunblock, try to find one with a mineral block such as Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide. Not only are these broad-spectrum blocks, they naturally add a slight whitish tinge most people do not like. But since you are trying to appear paler, this is exactly what you want! If it goes on TOO whitish, just mix a little with your foundation to even out the color.

Warnings

Never use concentrations of hydroquinone higher than 2% without consulting a doctor. You risk adverse reactions and possible damage to your skin.
Never use household bleach, hair bleach or lemon juice on your skin thinking you can lighten your skin. These will not work, as they are not designed to lighten the melanin in your skin. Lemon juice will simply irritate and dry out your skin.

What is credit card, debit card, atm

January 19, 2010 1 comment

CREDIT CARD

A credit card is part of a system of payments named after the small plastic card issued to users of the system. It is a card entitling its holder to buy goods and services based on the holder’s promise to pay for these goods and services.[1] The issuer of the card grants a line of credit to the consumer (or the user) from which the user can borrow money for payment to a merchant or as a cash advance to the user.

A credit card is different from a charge card, where a charge card requires the balance to be paid in full each month. In contrast, credit cards allow the consumers to ‘revolve’ their balance, at the cost of having interest charged. Most credit cards are issued by local banks or credit unions, and are the shape and size specified by the ISO/IEC 7810 standard as ID-1. This is defined as 85.60 × 53.98 mm in size.

DEBIT CARD

A debit card (also known as a bank card or check card) is a plastic card that provides an alternative payment method to cash when making purchases. Functionally, it can be called an electronic cheque, as the funds are withdrawn directly from either the bank account, or from the remaining balance on the card. In some cases, the cards are designed exclusively for use on the Internet, and so there is no physical card.

The use of debit cards has become widespread in many countries and has overtaken the cheque, and in some instances cash transactions by volume. Like credit cards, debit cards are used widely for telephone and Internet purchases, and unlike credit cards the funds are transferred from the bearer’s bank account instead of having the bearer to pay back on a later date.

Debit cards can also allow for instant withdrawal of cash, acting as the ATM card for withdrawing cash and as a cheque guarantee card. Merchants can also offer “cashback”/”cashout” facilities to customers, where a customer can withdraw cash along with their purchase.

ATM

ATM Smart Card is a service extended to Bank Islam’s the customers upon opening of new savings or current accounts at Bank Islam branches. The card uses chip technology is from France which is not only secured, but gives transactional flexibilities. It is a payment multipurpose card and also known as Bankcard which comprises of 3 applications:

  1. 1. ATM
  2. MEPS e-Debit
  3. MEPS Cash

Bank Islam Smart Card is a member of the Malaysian Electronic Payment System (MEPS) network since year 2000 to enable Bank Islam ATM network to integrate with nearly 4,000 ATMs, thus provides convenience and hassle free environment for the customers to do their banking transactions.

Look Out For 2010

Future Releases

2010 has a lot of surprises in store for us, gadget-wise. Some are expected other..

1. Google Nexus One:

The Nexus One has been Google’s worst kept secret after their employees twittered away the details of the phone when it was given away to a select few. The phone is unlocked and heralds Google’s entry into the mobile phone market. The phone is 3G equipped with HSDPA/HSUPA support and WiFi. The phone comes with a 3.7 inch OLED touch screen and runs the soon-to-be-released Android 2.1 . It does not support multi-touch out of the box like other Android phones and Google has fully customized the Android OS for the Nexus One. It also comes with a 5 Megapixel camera with support for geo-tagging. The phone is also equipped with two mics- one in the front and one in the rear. The one in the front is for the user’s voice and the one in the rear is to cancel out the background noise. The phone will be sold unlocked and has an expected release date in the 5th of January.

2. Apple iPhone 4G:

Apple’s new iPhone is rumoured to launch in summer 2010 with a host of hardware and software improvements. The phone is reported to have a 5 Megapixel camera with AF, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor under clocked to 800MHz and a front facing camera for video conferencing. The phone may operate on the Verizon’s 4G LTE network in the US, which means India will not see the 4G soon. But with Apple’s uber-secretive policies, we will only know more about the phone a few weeks from the launch date.

3. Project Natal:

Project Natal is the internal name for Microsoft’s new Xbox system where the gamers would use their hands, gestures and spoken words to play instead of using the controller. Think of it like a controller-less Wii, just with better games. The system was launched in 2009 and is expected to ship out as an add-on to the existing XBox 360s. The system consists of a camera, depth sensor and a mic. The inputs taken from these sources control the game play. The new controller is capable of tracking four persons at 48 points for movement and can identify individual fingers. This makes Microsoft’s Xbox 360 a viable contender of the Play Station since Sony introduced the EyeToy

4. Google Chrome OS:

The Chrome OS is Google’s maiden attempt at developing an Operating System primarily intended for cloud computing. While this is not Google’s first attempt at developing an OS [they developed the Android OS for mobile phones], this is the first serious attempt any developer has made towards an OS built exclusively for cloud computing. In cloud computing, the data and the applications are not stored on your hard drive. They are stored on specialized servers called the “Cloud”. While the Chrome OS is based off Linux and will run on Google recommended and approved hardware, it should be hacked to support other hardware soon. The Chrome OS is designed to run on netbooks and other portable computing devices. Google has promised a sub-10 second startup time and this should blow the other netbook OS’es out of the water.

5. Solid State Drives:

Solid State Drives have been available for industrial and military consumption since the mid 90s but the high cost/GB has kept it from being adopted by the general public. The SDD offer better performance, are more efficient and are more silent compared to the Hard Drives [HDDs] that the modern computers have. In a couple of years, SSDs will be standard equipment for anyone buying a desktop or a laptop. Most of the modern Operating Systems like Windows 7 and some Linux distros have support for SSD commands like the TRIM function. By the Fall of 2009, the SSDs have almost reached the $2/GB barrier in the international markets. While the SSDs are yet to take off in India, they will when the market reaches maturity in the US and Europe.
